John has taught a number of courses on radio and lectured on Radio Production and Sound Design for the Media and Production course at Southampton Solent University for twelve years. Prior to this he taught at CSV in Brighton on their ten week radio course and has tutored a number of one day courses in the use of Adobe Audition.
In addition John taught three courses for Brighton based training organisation Earshot, two on Community Radio and one for disadvantaged migrant young people for the Migrant Radio Project. He also helped unemployed young people on the Equal Project to make radio features for Earshot.
When in charge of Editing and Production for Radio Avalon in 2005 he supervised a team of journalists of varying abilities, teaching them on the job for the RSL at Glastonbury festival. He did the same for the RSL at the Bestival Festival. John also helped to train members of Radio Reverb, a Brighton based Community Radio station.
John also offers training in Adobe Audition and Cubase on a one to one basis.
